Double Exposure is an illustration of a non-quarantine daydream— 2 women sitting together. At the time, it had been months since there had been personal connections with friends and physical hugs were discouraged. The mural was created to bring some light and joy into any space.
The piece measures 8 feet x 8 feet and is on 2 pieces of reclaimed 1/2” thick plywood. It is for sale on Artplode.

The initial line work and layout was transferred from a sketch, but the details and shadows were freehanded to create a flowy, organic final representation.
Texture focused
Shaping
the wood
The plywood needed to be patched, mended, sanded, and primed before painting. But most of the texture was preserved to create a tactile experience that was designed to be felt.
